My name is Nour Salam, and I am running to be a KAMP board member. I am a certified senior GIS analyst at JMT Technology Group with 8 years of experience in the GIS industry. My current role focuses on proposing and configuring geospatial solutions for federal, state, local, and tribal governments. I earned a Master's of Science in 2015, and as someone who became a GIS professional as part of a career change, I know how crucial the GIS community is to a successful career. The knowledge sharing, the support, the networking, the joy of mapmaking, and the lifelong learning in our ever-changing tech landscape are all pillars of our strong community. I’ve been an active member of KAMP since 2022 and have presented my work at every conference since then. I have been a scholarship committee member since 2023, an awards committee member in 2024, and have since stepped up to serve as the current awards committee chair. By running for a board member position, I would like to get more involved and ensure we host successful conferences, compelling keynote speakers, provide engaging workshops, and offer ample networking opportunities.
