A Friday Afternoon Address on the occasion of the city of Lexington's 250th anniversary by Prof Rich Schein at 3pm in the Farish Theater of the Lexington Public Library.
"Racial Geographies of Lexington"
The talk will broadly explore Lexington’s shifting urban patterns of racism and resilience over the past 250 years. It will focus on the changing spatial order of White/Black proximity, primarily through mapping residential locations and with attention to both legal and extra legal forces at play in the constantly reforming urban landscape.
