Geospatial Data and Information Management – Essential to Your Future

  • 2021-05-25
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Remote

Registration is closed

This KAMP webinar brings together a panel of subject matter experts, who collectively will offer real-world perspectives on the often-overlooked issue of best practices for geospatial data and information management.

The accumulated and often massive knowledge base regarding data/information sources and procurement/provisioning details and workflows is in the hands and heads of career professionals. These professionals may or may not document them adequately either to mentor or coach new hires or as part of a succession plan for when they retire or move on to other positions or agencies.

Attendees will be presented with best practices and case-studies regarding:

  • External and internal data/information procurement
  • Rules for internal and external data/information provisioning
  • Guidance for mentoring new hires on best practices involved
  • Principles for sharing and publishing with open data portals
  • Impact of cloud storage and applications on online data/information exploitation
  • Accessing data from crowdsourcing platforms and environments
  • Metadata creation and maintenance
