The Executive Board has approved several updates to our constitution, and as valued members, you now have the opportunity to review and vote on these changes. Per our process, members have 30 days to submit their vote, with the deadline set for Tuesday, September 24, 2025.
Below is a short summary of the changes made:
Ethics
- Public Records/Confidential Info: Clarifies that maps/data must be made public unless:
-Access is prohibited by law or employer policy, or
-Data is confidential/proprietary and legally allowed to remain so.
Membership
- "Corporate Members" renamed to "Sustaining Members" throughout.
-Expanded to included educational institutions and other partners.
-Each Sustaining Member may designate three representatives with full member rights, changeable at any time.
-Switching from calendar-year membership (Jan to Dec) to a rolling 365-day term from when dues are paid.
Voting
-Amending the Constitution requires a simple majority of members voting/attending the annual meeting (previous requirement was 2/3 of all eligible voters).
-Ratification Language updated to match the above simple majority rule.
