Open Grant-Funded Positions:

Forestry Supervisor I: Developing and implementing a Green Workforce Development Program focused on urban forestry.

Arborist II: Project management of urban forestry initiatives in CEJST communities, specifically tree maintenance and planting.

Community Outreach Supervisor: Develop and implement community outreach and engagement strategy for urban forestry initiatives in CEJST communities.

Senior Data Analyst: Manage GIS urban forestry data sets, inventory and maps in CEJST communities.

Louisville Equitable Forest Initiative (LEFI) is a multi-faceted approach to growing equitable urban canopy and encouraging holistic sustainability for underserved communities in Louisville. This campaign will include:

Comprehensive inventory of Louisville’s public trees to better inform a management plan

New planting initiatives and management of existing street trees in underserved neighborhoods to

increase community resilience

Community outreach initiative with dedicated staff listening to community needs, fostering buy-in,

and encouraging environmental stewardship.

Workforce development program to train residents from underserved communities in green industry

skills
