Job Alert - Bluegrass ADD seeking Geographic Information System Specialist
The Bluegrass Area Development District is seeking a GIS Specialist to work on-site. The candidate must be self-motivated with exceptional planning, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills who thrives in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide GIS support in collecting, storing, retrieving, manipulating, analyzing, and displaying geospatial and non-geospatial data.
- Import GIS data into SDE database and perform data updates for various layers.
- Maintain the geospatial data and attributes.
- Provide analysis of geospatial data.
- Create and plot associated maps, diagrams, or drawings.
- Conduct GPS service, for locating features such as water/sewer infrastructure, road centerlines, building points.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or related field (experience can be substituted for a degree)
- Knowledge of general mapping principles, spatial analysis, and cartography.
- Experience editing data in an ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise versioned Geodatabase.
- Experience using GPS equipment.
- Must have a sound technical understanding of key technologies (GIS mapping software and GPS) and systems.

Pay: From $42,500.00 per year
